Need to get out and fish. Was thinking of Britton, but I hear it has cooled down. I hear the Trinity is fishing well, but have never fished it. I have a great old map (after flood of '97) that points the way to some of the big holes, but it seems like I really do not know what the heck to do there? Any advice? Any one want to go for an adventure? :smt006

Sac  (Barge hole) area is an easy drive, park on the river bank. Anyone know if fish are in the area enough to go for it? May drive out there today and see if anyone is out there. :smt006

Thinking of Sunday 10/9

Sorry I missed your hookup Dave, I was actually fishing the Trinity all weekend...apparently the bite slowed a bit, or we just had bad luck.  Either way, it was a great trip and the river looks awesome.  I did manage to hook/fight a tremendous brown that will haunt me for the rest of my years.

Regarding the gravel bar, I went down there a few weeks back and the fish are starting to show.  Might head back down this coming Sunday (16th), will shoot you a PM if so.  I know Tim was wanting to check it out too, he may have a bit more intel.

That's old school right there, but still good info!  So nice to see the salmon back!

Not much of a report but here goes anyway...I ended up fishing the Sac on Saturday night with my 12 year old son. We saw only two salmon being caught... each one was dark with some red. Beautiful evening... no salmon love for us.

Sunday I headed east on 44 and fished Hat Creek from foot. Caught about a dozen 12-14" brook and rainbow planters. I figure I would keep the biggest five Purina trout chowed trout for dinner. I was only there about an hour and wanted to get to Britton and get on the yak.

There was no one out on Lake Britton. I had the entire lake for myself, except the bald eagle who kept checking me out. Caught a few under 6 inch large mouth bass and no crappie. Zero. Had a great long paddle and enjoyed the evening of relaxation.

Tonight after work I ran down to the gravel bar with a colleague from work and fished from shore again. No salmon love.. saw only two caught. Another nice evening. No salmon love for us.

I would still like to get out more soon; however my calendar is full! :smt010

Sorry I could not make the hookup Dave, I had a "B-Day " party to run.
Hit the gravel bar for a couple of hours today, no fish love for me but saw 3 landed, all looking a little dark but no spots.

Remember to practice safe knots, because big fish don't just break your line, they also break your heart.

Hi Tim,
I am hoping that my calendar will open up soon after work; however, looks like I have some event or meeting everyday for the next three weeks! :smt012 I may be restricted to weekends when not on the list for the fam activities. Darn those day jobs  :smt001
