Scott,
Many thanks for taking the effort to summarize this wealth of knowledge and to share it with the brotherhood.
It's sure is nice to know the whats, the whens and the hows of what we are targeting.
Looking forward to getting my 2nd ghost with better odds this year because of this very very nice read.
Danny

PS
Maybe finding the best when is to just wait for your hookup invite for a wsb hunt. Lol.

Going Fishing?
Winds from the south, hook in
    the mouth.
Wind from the east, bite the least.
Wind from the north, further off.
Wind from the west, bite the
    best.

Thanks a bunch for the great writeup on the WSB Scott. Hopefully I can use all your tips and catch one too this year.

Nice writeup Scott.  Can I make a front page article out of it?

Sure Allen. The article reads easier with the graphic imbedded instead of at the end. I have a formatted word document I can send you if you PM me your e mail.

Thanks for all the info.  I'd ask for college credit for reading it (you ought to get the NCKA advanced degree for writing it), but it was too much fun, and besides, I've been doing the lab work before reading the text.  I hope the experiments will work out better from now on.

thanks Scott, well written and researched.  Moody Mike and I have been launching from Pillar point at HMB, so my question to you or anyone: Is south of the reef past the red and blue cans?

Scott, I think you got all the points perfectly. I think the most important part of WSB fishing is patience and putting in an inordinate amount of time on the water!!

Maybe a small section on WSB head stones would be helpful. Although the stones are pretty worthless to the avg. person, i personally enjoy collecting them.

The HMB bite in 8/11 was straight out from the green buoy in 75-90 FOW. It was a surface bite. The bite last year was 4-5 miles south of the harbor about a mile south of the buoy that marks the south end of the reef. It was an August bite also. The WSB are heading south to Catalina so I would guess that Monterey will be your best and maybe last shot at them for 2011. The full moon is 10/11/2011. Fish it hard guys.

kind of short on details Scott.  For example what do you eat for breakfast on hunting day?  :smt044 :smt003

Seriously, an awesome resource.  Thanks

Thank you.  I dont get to go after wsb often, being from Chico, and I am always skunked.  I will try your suggestions, hopefully with a change in luck.  Thanks again.
