So, judging from an earlier picture, we can drive onto and launch from the beach? 4x4needed? I have but sometimes is not engaging.

Yes, Rob - you can easily launch from the beach, and usually we park on the beach, but that 8'+ tide midday will make it sketchy to park on the beach for the tournee.  4WD is a must - I've gotten stuck in a 2WD on that beach.

The Roleez trip from parking to launch is only about 30-40 yards.

Again, thank you everyone for taking the time out of your busy schedules to participate in Trinidad Rockfish Wars. I am beyond thrilled with our turnout for our first event. Out of towners, you guys are really going to enjoy Humboldt.

Just another reminder about the meeting tomorrow at Pacific Outfitters Eureka. Check in, pick up your AWESOME gift bags, then we will go over tournament rules and the schedule of events for Saturday.

Saturday, tournament starts at 7am (that will give you 7 hours of fishing time). All players need to check in before they leave. I will have an EZ-UP tent on the beach. You have from 7am-8am to check in and get in the water. I'm fishing too, I don't want to wait to long for everyone to get in. I will be back at the beach at 12 noon, to greet people as they slowly come in. Bring you catch to the tent. We will measure your fish and tally your points then you can decide which ones you want to turn in. Once you fish are turned in, your done. Feel free to hang out, gut your fish, have a beer, what ever you want.

Awards party will start at 5pm. It's at the Holiday Inn Express at the McKinleyville Ariport (it's actually called the Eureka/Arcata Airport, but it's in McKinleyville). There will be snacks, beer, soda, etc. We will do the award thing, then you will be cut loose around 7ish to do what you want.  Then the second half of the party starts! :)

Mike Findley of Team Red Dog here. Can we buy tackle at the meeting? You guys still pretty well stocked on jigheads and junk?
Thanks

Way to go on the 22 teams, Aaron!  I plan to be at the meeting tomorrow, but my teammate can't be there - I'm hoping to pickup his goodie bag.  Thanks!   :smt001

The bite was a lil slow this afternoon, but the water was nice as well as the sunset view from Flatiron.  It was a calm and peaceful paddle back in.

The swells were steep, but I liked it. :smt044 :smt044
