Live bait, dead bait, crank bait, ?????

Stripers, LMB, sturgeon????

In the lake, out in the river???

Not looking for secrets just a little more info, it's one of my favorite areas as evidenced by the sturgy in my lap.

Thanks for the report, finding calm days there is a treat....

I flyfish 95% of the time.  When I catch it's great, when I dont I "appreciate the challenge."  I am a Brooklyn transplant, did well there, just learning my way here.  But above all I am a family fellow right now, dont get out very often these days.

forgot to mention that there were fish hittin the surface quite regularly close to the reeds, looked like schoolie stripers to me.

Thanks for the info, I've never fly fished, too much finesse for me right now, there are a few guys here that target stripers and even rockfish on flies, good luck and keep posting, we all love reports....questions, and kudos :smt002

Hey Zenfisher,

Don't give up on Sherman Island you picked a good place to fish. You are right about the schoolie stripers but I know there are some large ones in there with them right on the reed edges. I do better on the out going tides. The fall run should get good around end of October.

Good luck.

When the wind picked up I drifted back to the beach staying along the drop off to the channel.  Marked a bunch of fish along there.  There I think that is it!

Thats were I fish on the low tide when the current has slacked. Seems the fish move off the flats and retreat to the channel. Were you fishing the main channel where the islands are west of the beach on your left?
