Looks like we might be stuck at the Fort. Most of the other spots have limited parking that may be taken after 7:00AM.

I just mapped it on google earth from the fort to where the salmon were caught its just a little over 2 miles. The lings were just north of Russian Gulch. Which the state in thier infinite fucking wisdom has closed the parking lot. same thing at Stump. We cant do the stump beach hill climb. The bastards have shut the gate there as well. You could launch at Gerstle Cove at SP and paddle north to Stump and up to the boundary. Anchor Bay is doable but if theres an inkling of surf its screwed. If you go SP to Stump and the wind comes up you can ride it back. The paddle from the fort down to below the reef is doable over the kelp beds. For paddlers that is. :smt003 :smt003 :smt006

I've been hitting the Sonoma coast a lot this week. Went out again today. Chasing salmon around is hard work!!! The water around Salmon creek and up is BRRROOOOWN!!! Looked like winter time mud coming out of the Russian. Listening to the PBers on the radio, not a lot of fish caught today. Most were asking around trying to find fish. I had 4 pull downs the resultd in mangled baits, but no hookups. So I can't say if the were silver, black or brown......... There was a ton of bait on the gragh, but I think it was mostly krill. Sometimes top to bottom.  I had a whale cruising by several times, very close. Makes you a little nervous. Hope they know your there, I'd hate to get up ended by one surfacing right under me. Are you guys planning on camping out Saturday night?
