Black Point on sat...

There lots of fish there, unfortunately they seem to be somewhat whale-like. Good for pics though.
Theres got to be a few keepers in there as well as stripers too.

Im down to go out on Sat. Where is black point I dont think that I have fished that area, is it near Bucks? Also what time did you weant to launch?

Its on hwy 37, where the petaluma river goes under. Nice little ramp, 5 dollar fee, fresh water hose off, beer across the river, docks, towers, lots of stuff to check out. Its a great place just to paddle around and check out the wildlife, but there are sea monsters lurking about.
PS the ramp is right under the bridge on the WEST side, The east side has a marina, but from what i remember theres an a**hole in charge of his little world over there.
Time? I hooked one on the out and one on the in, so Ill be aiming for 10 or so.

Anybody know what the paddle back against the tide is like there?

Also, the wind would be at our backs on the paddle back, but the wind blowing against the tide sometimes makes for choppy conditions.

Since I'll be in Bodega all day Friday I'll be able to pump some shrimp, too.

Sounds good I should be there at 10. I think that my fatheris itchin to fish so he might tag along with us. Is there a bait store neer there or should I try to find some on the way up?

You can launch at Black Point and paddle directly across to (used to be) Leonard's Bait and Tackle. They usually have decent grasshrimp (probably won't on Sat., though), ghostshrimp, and frozen tray bait. I'm hopin' they have some live bullheads on Saturday. Good for hog stripers in that area. 

I hooked up my fish less than a mile from the lot, of course you can go further out to the bay in 1 or 2. It can get a bit windy but sticking tight to shore its not that bad. Also if it rains, the bridge is quite wide with lots of holes and contors on the bottom. The store might be pricy for bait,never bought any there but a 6 pack, bag of chips and some wonder thread set me back 15 bucks.

Well I think I will try to stop by Lock Lomond on the way up.

Looks like rain, so Ill be under the 100 foot wide umbrella (bridge). Just picked up a new shimano mooching rod/reel strung with 20# spectra... shweeeeet. Western sports in san rafeal has some killer deals- $119.
