The winner the last two years stayed in the cove. Think thick. 100lb braid and 60lb mono leader

I used 50# braid main line with 30# - 3' fluoro leader and 3 oz leadhead twin tail to catch all 3 fish last year to win. All caught inside the cove. Light tackle fishing can out fish the big guns in some situations where speed of drop makes a difference. I would bring some 8-16 oz stuff to fish outside the cove but dropping on structure and using the lightest tackle you can will pay off in many situations. Just my 2 cents. Good luck to all. Scott
