Now you guys have me thinking about heading down to monterey one weekend when the weather gets better.  That looks like so much fun.  I would love to catch one of those.

Good job, hopefully we'll get a good halibut year this time.  The last few years haven't been very productive for flatties.
The legend lives on from the Chippewa on down
Of the big lake they call Gitche Gumee
Superior, they said, never gives up her dead
When the gales of November come early.

hey, no measuring on the curve! you have to hold the tape straight or measure underneath,  :smt002.

Since I am on record with an inch shorter halibut that I am claiming was heavier I got to protest,  :smt004.

maybe they get fatter over the summer, I got mine in november.

I'm not part of the pool cause I don't feel like being freddie and mooch cannon fodder, but pride
is at issue here,  :smt005

The height/weight chart of a california halibut will be quite a bit heavier than 22lbs for a 36 inch halibut.

your guy has been on jenny craig too long according to this:

Thanks guys.

It's great so many enjoyed that bad boy...... :smt003

Blue, I wouldn't have known to target that area if it hadn't been for reports from a diving friend and encouragement from Chef, so I'm delighted to pass on the encouragement.

Yeah, John he was a very trim halibut.  He has clearly not been feeding very heavily.  I guess they are just getting started.

Saltwater is the cure for everything that ails us,
sweat, tear or the sea.
