Finally found a window in my schedule to start working on the kayak; plus I finally got everything I need to put it together.

- Garmin 300 fishfinder & thru-hull transducer
- Fushon Stereo w/ 2 6" round speakers.
- Garmin 60SCX on a Ram mount; wired to the Garmin 300
- 2 Gimbal rod holders
- 4 Scott flush mounts
- Gaspachi Center Hatch
- Hanging Battery holder

I'll post more install pics as I go...

Amp? :smt044

If I can find one that is waterproof.....

Made a make-shift compass to scribe the outline of the holes, then punched a pilot hole for the jig saw blade and carefully cut away the openings; jig saw makes quick work of the kayak plastic....

Couldn't wait to see what it would look like, so I had to drop in the hatch and speakers; here's the preview:

Using the template included in the manual, I drew out the opening just in front of the center hatch; the used the jig saw to cut away the opening.  To add more ridgitity to the base, I made a backing plate out of starboard.

Now she' ready for wiring.....

Using the inner ring of the "Worlds Gym" Exercise Noodle, I used a belt sander to molded the bottom of the noodle to sit flush in the center channel of the kayak.

Then I traced the foot print of the transducer on the top of the noodle and cutted away using a rotor-bit on a drill press.

After sanding the inner hull, I gooped the noodle and placed a 10lb weight to hold it down.

I mounted the rear Scotty Flush mounts and used one screw from each mount to secure the rear strap of the battery bag (which I got from AK); I secured the from straps to the back side of the screws used to hold the center hatch straps.

Here are more pics of the install and fab:

Where's the boom box?

Play some killer whale sounds and you will have yourself a shark shield.   :smt005
