The Importance of Sunblock

Hate getting sunburned!  Did it to my shins badly, fishing lexington in shorts on a cloudless sunny day.  Skin peeling off looks like a molting reptile

The sun emits UVA + UVB Rays. UVA is the light that we see.  UVB Is the energy behind the light. It is the energy that cooks us and gives you sunburn. UVB is always there, so regardless of cloud cover you should always have sunscreen on. I learned that the hard way too.

I think you got it in reverse.  See quote below:

I vote for Darius!!      they have sunblock that is like a big chapstick.....i get a new one every year. All sunblock degrades in time, the older it is, the lesser protection you'll get.

I hope your head heals quickly. I got second and third degree burns on my legs and feet the first time I took my kayak out. I had to be drugged up pretty good to be able to walk. I always keep waterproof sunscreen with me now with my water.

Darius, that looks painful dude!!! I always get a burn somewhere but I always put on sunblock too, so it's the wierd shaped burns that turn into tan in differents spots of my body that I'm left with. I still have a funny tan that looks like a tramp stamp on my back from the Albion Charter Boat business, and several degrees of color on my legs and shoulders from all the rest of the outings this summer.

My favorite is when you can peel the dead skin off in sheets, oh yeah, that's satisfaction
