I heard this news only a couple of days ago, and am very saddened. I apologize for the tardy words, but I felt it necessary to share my brief friendship with Aaron.
I arrived in Marina California in May 2010 to work as a temporary student intern through my school in Phoenix Arizona.  I took Aaron’s surf zone class and purchased my first kayak from MBK that same day.  As an avid freshwater angler, I was awed by his incredible wealth of experience and knowledge as an angler and watermen. His enthusiasm was contagious.  From May to August, I resided in Marina and on several occasions was privileged to get invited to fish with Aaron and a few of his fine friends.  Sean (Piscean ), Adam (Fishunter), and Ken (SCXFactor)  were a real pleasure to meet and fish with.  I was taken to locations I am not experienced enough to attempt alone, and instructed on presentations and techniques.  In mid August, I had to return to Phoenix to finish school.
May of ‘11, I graduated and returned here with a permanent full time job.  I stopped by the shop to say hello to my new friend from the previous summer.  We made plans, and were targeting stripes and flatties at Capitola one morning in June.
It is impossible to understate the appreciation I feel for having had the opportunity to meet and fish with Aaron Hull. He was an inspiration to me as an outdoorsman and will always be the first fishing friend I made in California.  I would very much like to attend the paddle in Aaron’s memory.  My condolences and prayers go out to the friends and family.

Matt.
