Thinking about diving/spearfishing Saturday, anyone going to be in the Monterey/Carmel area?

Can't make Saturday, but taking my Dad out of SWS on Sunday to let him fish while I dive, and then meeting my Mom and Valentina at the beach after for some family time...if you are still in town, would be stoked to see you!

I may go out on Sunday and meet up with you and Ernest (lucky13), just putting some feelers out for Saturday. Thanks for the heads up Jim! What time were you heading out?

Geoff, don't dive Pacific Grove tomorrow. Visibility sucked everywhere. It was about 3-6 feet of hazy in 15-30 ftw, even to the left outside of Otter, where it's usually decent.

Vis was about 8 feet out in 50+feet of water, and VERY dark and hazy.

You're better off going to Carmel/SWS.

I think Chaeki, a couple other guys, and I will be diving Capitola tomorrow morning (yes, you read right, Capitola). Vis actually looked pretty good today, judging from the cliff.

Geoff, hope you've been well my brother :) Wish I could come out, but I'm stuck at the shop this weekend. Whichever day you decide to go, or even better both days, I wish ya lotsa fun and action!! Look forward to hanging out with ya again.

Rick, it was great to see ya today! Very proud of your achievements, and looking forward to seeing many more from ya. Can't wait to hear how ya guys do at Capitola.

Big Rick,

Capitola..... where about you dropping in?

I live right up the hill, always been tempted to explore a little bit...

Hope all is well.

Hey Brent,
We were originally thinking of renting a skiff for ease of travel and getting out to the kelp beds faster, as we have to leave by ~11am-ish. But then came the issue of getting back into the skiff because of the high sides. Also, we called and all the skiffs have been reserved, so we'll be kayaking diving.

We'll be putting in at Capitola, to the right of the pier. I'm not quite sure about time yet, but I want to say it'll be around 7am.

We have about 3-4 guys who are planning on coming, and you're more than welcome to join us. I'll let you know when we have everything figured out.

Sun

E winds 5 kt...becoming W 5 to 10 kt in the afternoon. Wind waves less than 2 ft. NW swell 2 to 3 ft. Patchy morning fog and drizzle.
Everybody dies, not everybody lives. What did you do today?

Be advised  traffic/ parking could be a nightmare in Capitola.     There is a pier to pier paddle  event  starting at  7 am from  SC wharf - Capitola  ...  and  Sunday is the  Wharf to Wharf race.    Lots of people vying for those few parking spots.

Sometimes the fish isn't the only prize.

Thanks for the heads up, Baitman, I thought I might've seen a sign that said that.

And thanks for the offer, Brent.
