So I am guessing this is an original Hobie Tandem. All it says is Hobie Tandem. There is some work to be done. The rudder Is a goner, still attached but not in working order. There is a small crack and the water slowly leaks in. Nothing some hot plastic can't take care of. I am excited to fix the boat up. It should be a fun time. I feel like those people who say they drive a BMW, but when you see it it's a beater.

Good luck and have fun!

I can already imagine GWhiz offering to come over to your house with his toolbox to help.   :smt044

I would even drive to his house to work on it. I just need to find the parts. Since its an older model I really don't know where to look.

Play Time!!! Bring it over and let's start drilling!

You gonna bring it to Albion? We'll do a preliminary look-over, draw out some plans and set a date!

See you in a couple of days!!!

I had the same boat.  I'd say that WAS my old boat but I don't see the bow mounted rod holders.  That thing was fast as h@ll, even solo.  Had to replace my rudder after a trip fishing the Kitchen.  Me and this one cat landed first and beached our gear, ChuckE rode a wave in, set his feet, then a surge caught his boat, took out his feet and he did a backflip in the surf.  Yeah, it was crazy!  Anyway, Chuck's boat then came crashing into my stern and smashed the flip up rudder all to hell.  Everyone was alright, so we laughed our azz off afterward.

If recall intact, I sold it to another attorney, a UCLA grad who wrote insurance defense work.  Dang, I wonder if that somehow could be my old boat...

Dude, even if she's 44 yo and had bad breath, Pam Anderson would still be considered hot.  Same with your vintage jetboat . . .

Is it the the rudder fin that is missing or the whole assembly; please take a picture of it and post.... i wonder if the fin's screw mounting pattern is the same as the newer units; if so, I have a fin you can have...

Here are a couple of pics of the rudder. I think it needs a new fin and a few hardware pieces to go with it.

Sorry Bro,

Way different than what I got. Your best bet is to call Hobie directly to see if you can get the part.
