Good luck tomorrow and looking forward to a good report, as I MAY try again this Friday.
I don't have any constructive input, as I have been 0 for 2 @ Cap. the last 2 weeks.

If the beach break looks iffy, try the harbor. Wish I could get my daughter out there. Good luck.

NewB question: where/how do you get your live baits (sardines)?
Cheers,

Last weekend I was catching bait all over. In between the moored boats, outside of them, down at sponge bob, even some over at NB. I finally was able to determine the difference between sabiki hook sizes. The smaller hooks 14# are much easier to remove from the dine's mouth but you will also lose some more cause they can unhook themselves while the bigger 10# hooks are harder to pull out but you won't lose many once hooked. I wish I had a tank but the bait tube works o.k. for now. Good luck on the hunt. jim

I'm gonna agree on the surf launch. Be careful. I actually like riding the wave in like a surfer, but if you catch the wave the wrong way your gonna eat it big time, as I found out a couple days ago! It is still lots of fun even when you eat it. lol!  :smt044 looking forward to the report. L.A.

Bait is being thinned out but still plentiful. I like the sardines but seem to only pick up rockfish on frozen squid. I know a few months ago squid was the ticket in Santa Cruz but for Capitola sardines seem to work.

Sounds like a pretty good plan to me, if you hit them in that order you'll be able to use the wind and current to help push you back in. Pretty good paddle from SB to the point and you'll want to make it out there before the wind picks up or risk being blown back too fast unless you use a drift chute.

Pretty windy on Monday, speeds over 2 mph according to gps downwind.

Good luck
