Allen,,,    It's already too small.      I think a 65'   may be needed.     With a galley ...

So, without getting too revealing into another's privacy, here's the story.

A very good friend, former commercial fisherman, who I have been working on to get him back out fishing for about 20 years finally retired and bought this boat, and a bunch of gear.  Sadly, he was then diagnosed with a few different life altering diseases, including cancer and nerve damage ala Agent Orange.  He's physically unable to do much more than get to the VA and back these days.

Though I was not looking for a PB, and my wife and I had agreed that a skiff or something would probably wait till the kids were done with College, I could not refuse his insistence that I take the boat and carry on as his legacy.

Right now, I'm still dialing things in, Jim Moore is helping me with the motor.  I installed VHF radios, Foruno digital GPS and Garmin Chartplotter GPS, Foruno radar, Classic Foruno color FF, and will soon adapt the side-scan Humminbird to augment the Foruno.

Still need to wire in twin Cannon downriggers and the Ace Line Hauler.

I envision mothershipping to some of the North Coast spots this summer, and perhaps Big Sur once I get a fix on reliability etc.  I have the Gold vessel Assist program, so it's a free tow anywhere within 30 miles of launch, but I'd prefer never to use that failsafe.

Oh yeah, the 72 GMC 3/4 ton with cherry 350 came with the boat.  Ironically, my wife fell ln love with this faded, dented Pickup, which took some of the pressure off.  Her only worry was that I would not kayak fish as much.

So, if any of you husbands out there need a ploy to kayak fish more often, my advice is to buy a powerboat.

I promised my wife I would kayak fish two times for every time I take the PB out.   Hee hee.
