Couldn't you just dive in and then self rescue back in and keep on paddling without filling it up with water?

And last but not least...    It would be great to test the capabilities of this boat.  I havn't capsized it in the open ocean yet.   Let's go do it...    "DO IT NOW" ( arnold swarzzenegger voice , Predator movie )   

I know it's a lot faster and easier to paddle than my Ocean Kayak Scupper pro...   Equal to my wife's Wilderness 120  I think.    At the paddlefest I was racing a guy in a Hobie with the Mirage Drive... Those pedal things are faster for sure, but I gained a lead turning around the bouy.
   

...and no, you can't use a torqueedo...

I may need to cut my vacation short just to see this!  I got $20 on you Craig.

     erh,,, ah,   about that   "a lot faster and easier to paddle than my Ocean Kayak Scupper pro..."  comment...   I was wrong, what I had was the Scrambler.   I went on line and realized the Scupper Pro is 15 long' and 26" wide.        "My Mistake"     BUT,  a deal is a deal... 
   So here's the deal.    I'm not about to back out.      I will capsize the boat anytime after the  big " race "  once I recover,  ( two beers should do it )       In  for a swim   at the can, back in the boat , and complete the race like we originally agreed.
     I spent today  brewing a batch of Pale Ale today.     Those that know me say I make the best ale they've ever tasted...  Planning on bringing a 5 gallon keg to the party...
 I need defensive blockers,,,   free beer to anyone who runs interference for me !   

  the one on the left is the OK Scrambler  I  sold both of those a short while ago.

You can't start at 8am though Craig...no way...we NEED to be at the Can to see this, so you guys HAVE to wait until we are out there and have had a few beverages and then call you up on the VHF!!

LOL Craig you're crazy---you need a different kind of sponsor ...like "Hi, my name is Craig and I'm addicted to yakfishing"       

I got 20 on Craigers.

Baitman here is a tip...super glue a bunch of anchovies, sardines, and macks to the bottom/top of Craig's kayak and the seals will give you a bit of help

as an old guy, I gotta sponsor Ravensblack.  But Baitman is an Aptos homie.  So $20 bucks on home town pride and $20 for old guys 

Of course I've got Craig for $20. Art, I think I can safely get 3 or 400 water balloons in my kayak in case anyone else needs one.....or a dozen.  Craig, will you be wearing some waders for the dunking?

Glad to see you are being a good sport about continuing on with the race. Craig will need a nap before he can make it back so you'll have a chance to make a pass then. 

What I really want to know is why these Ocean Kayak Pro-Staffer's are so intent on running this race in one of their 'old' design boats and not one of the newer ones like the T-15 or T-13?   

For an extra 10 bucks can i arm myself and a "few" of my closest NCKA friends with super soakers?

btw: i'm "Betting" on PIF....
