HI. I did a thread search and could not find this.

Has anyone tried a Delta 12.5 catfish, or (better yet) does anyone here own one?

I'm looking for a light lake/stream,calm water fishing platform. I already have a 16' Sea Kayak that weighs about 65lbs, and the thought of lifting something heavier atop my SUV is unappealing.

Thanks in advance!

I think Delta is supposed to be at Aquanfest.  Let me check with them if they'll have a Cat there.

I paddled the Catfish 12.5 this weekend at Aquanfest.  This was a Gen One prototype.  As far as I can tell, they have yet to go to full production with them.  In fact, the guys working the booth said they were going to make some minor mods to the lines at the bow and stern.  The kayak tracks TOO WELL and is hard to turn, so they are addressing this.  They also have added a rudder that is tucked up under the back between the 2 hulls.  Even with the rudder, the Gen One proto was quite sticky, so they really do need to address this.  Stability is great, but being twinned hull, it had a weird feel when trying to get up on edge.  Being thermoformed, it had that nice hardshell feel.  Quick on the sprint and good glide too.

They also had a Delta 10, with is a SIK Cat design.  They lowered the center part to accomodate the sit-in cockpit.

Rumor has it they are working on a 14 or 15 foot version of the Cat too.
