NWKA will be holding it's annual Oregon Rockfish Classic on June 18 this year.

At least a couple of us will make the long weekend of it and represent.  Anyone else interested?

Im hoping that there will be a raptor there to try.
I am curious as to whether an extended paddle pry will flip that boat.
Will depend on the leg braces and the hip kit but it might work.

Tempting.

What are the weather/ocean conditions looking like for up there this week-end?

*Edit - Hmm, If I'm looking at the right forecast it's looking pretty good:

Fri
N wind 10 to 15 kt. Wind waves 2 ft. W swell 5 ft.
Sat
NW wind 10 to 15 kt. Wind waves 2 ft. W swell 6 ft.

I'm seriously considering this.

Allen/Terry - When you guys heading out?

Current long range forecast looks ok.  Problem is that it has been changing every day lately.  We're heading out early Friday morning, 6AM from Terry's place.  It's like 10 hours from the North Bay.  Coming back on Monday.

Man,,,   I'm tapped out.   Can't make it to this one as much as I'd like to.     If anyone is going and wants to take a loaner to  test / use up there I'd be more than happy to provide one.

It's going to be the biggest tournament ever in the NW at almost 40 people.  Not quite "big big" compared to the rest of the country, but if you were to choose one event to showcase your stuff in the NW, this would be it.  Come on man, make one sale and it pays for your trip, right?

Allen,   Not it's not that I don't want to go...  Like you say , it's a great opportunity to let people see it up close.
I've been waiting for weeks for my plastic order to get processed along with a weld repair to the mold.. I just got the call that it's ready for pick up this Friday...      Both places are in SoCal.   Aptos to Madera to Ontario to Fontana then back to Madera and finally home... something like a 20 hour drive hauling  2000 lbs in a trailer over the grapevine...     Duty calls.
Anybody wanna invest $$$ in a Kayak company ?  ( serious, anybody ? )  How about you Allen ?    I can send you up  there with a shiny new Raptor,  just like the one that Paul La caught his giant 100+ lb ( 150 lbs next week ) California halibut in...   LOL...
Just two sales will cover your costs.
