Left San Leandro around 0400 and headed down Monterey. Arrived at the CG ramp around 0600. Saw one kayaker out there by the kelp bed fishing just south of the breakwater. Try to call him on the radio but no answer.  Splash the boat around 0630 and headed towards Pt. Pinos. Line in the water around 0715 in 310' h2o and 130' OTW with Purple Haze Hoochie behind the red hot spot. Pointed the bow south and started trolling to deeper water.  Around 0830, I got a take down and this one was peeling line fast, took me about 10 minutes to land the beast. I was so happy when he was surely inside the net. "I hate this solo thing". Put out the number and I thought it was going to be an early exit but I was wrong. I trolled around that area until 1:00 and that was it for me.  Lots of stick boats out there and it seems like the school that we had down there moved north already.

Congrat on the big fat King.  Thanks for the report and pictures Fred.
