Had a nice day at San Pablo on Saturday. Got on the water around 9:00. Trolled a J-7 jointed rapala with and without a 3/4 oz weight in front for a couple hours for a couple hits but no fish. Other trollers were catching fish on Kastmasters, but I didn't have one with me. Landed my kayak down by the dam, soaked some powerbait and ate lunch. No bites. Got bored with trout fishing... Switched rods, tied up  a chartreuse spinnerbait and went to work. Ended up catching and releasing about twelve bass up to about 5 lbs in less than 2 hours. They are sitting in about 3-5 feet of water in shallow cover. They are AGGRESSIVE right now, and fattening up. Most of the bites came right after the spinnerbait hit the water, or right after it hit bottom before I started the retrieve, and they hit hard. Got a couple iPhone pictures I'll try to add when I have a minute to figure out how.

Sounds like you had fun catching those bass.  Thanks for the report Alex and looking forward to see the pictures.

Nice job on the bass Alex. Catching 12 fish in a day is a good day.

Nice bass, it's good to flexible while fishing.
Remember to practice safe knots, because big fish don't just break your line, they also break your heart.

Do it. Just look for shallow water with stick-ups and submerged trees. They're really aggressive right now. I bet they'll eat whatever you put in front of them.
