Greetings all. First post with the group. A collective thank you to everyone, I've learned a TON on this site.

Sunday looks like pretty good ocean conditions and I'm seriously considering going after salmon with a downrigger off of Muir Beach.

It will be my first time fishing for salmon off the kayak (been using it for diving and rockfish till now). Two questions:

- Any general recommendations specific to Muir Beach?
- Do I have a chance in heck this early in the season?

Regardless, if conditions are good I think it will be a good shakedown paddle with some of the new gear. Thanks in advance for your guidance.

Yes, you have a chance. Troll along current breaks often found at muir. Getting no pink love? Try trolling on the bottom in less than 50fow for halibut. Good luck.
