so in work in concord and every single day as i drive home on highway 4 im always turning my neck towards the water to check out conditions , today i looked over and immedantly got all ansty to see that it was flat ass calm to where you could see the reflection of the trees on the water from afar! i had to hit it up so instead of turning right onto my street i took a left towards the harbor to see if there was anything going on out there , jeff at BS bait is a local guy who works part time at the bait shop and if you know him you know he is a fountain of west delta fishing knowledge, he told me a few sturgeon were weight in caught around middleground island and said to hurry up and get out there because the tide was swingin , i was a bit disapointed at the lack of shrimp but jeff talked me into trying out his backroom stash of lamprey eels he just got in , im not much of a eel guy but it was either go fishing with eel or go home and do yard work with a weed whacker which i have all week to do so my choice was easy! raced home to find the wife gone so i called her and asked where she was
" im at target buyin yara yara...."  i cut her off and told her i was going fishing , she paused for a sec but then said " ok" lol didnt even ask what time i was gonna be home ( me fishing is the eqivalent of her shopping ,  the two count each other out)
geared up fast and jammed back down there , paddled out and found two of my buds motoring back in , talked for a bit then had them mark some fish for me (no fishfinder) , they gave me some leftover ghostshrimp and told me good luck and bounced.
the fishing: i got there midtide and the current was rushing hard , alot of debree still floatin around too , my best times for catching are usually at the top and bottom of tides and i got to fish niether , water temps are still in the low 50s so it may take a day more or two to get the fish on the munch, a few "diaper stripers" shredded my ghost shrimp but overall the bite was slow , didnt matter though...it was truly one of those days where i just soaked it all in and enjoyed my time on the water , i called it quits after watching the sunset , got home , cealned all up then put this little video together, no real action or anything just me paddling alongside some powerboats and catching a minnow striper , i just love my go-pro cam! these things were made for kayak fishing! put it on your gear list as a must have! ( i had the dam tilted a little low , thats why theres not too much scenic shots , trial and error)

Nice job getting out after work! It is great to have some warmth and sunlight after work now. Maybe Sunday will be the best day, I'm thinking about getting out then.

Looks like too much debris in the water there.  Thanks for the report and nice video Andy.

i got the go-pro hero HD naked , i got a 32  mem card and had to buy a few accessories ike the head strap , chest harness and a diving lense. one thing to get is the fog strips because the longer i have it on the more condinsation builds up.

hey BIGJIM , i use windows movie maker , it came already installed on my computer , real easy to use!

Cool.

I am using the wife's Mac and it has iMovie...I don't think the Windows stuff will work on the mac...

I haven't been able to figure out how to add in text or speed/slow down footage yet....

I'm sure there's gotta be a way to do it....

Maybe if I don't try to do the editing at 3 in the morning after being out diving/drinking/cleaning fish/cooking/eating/drinking/cleaning dishes I will have better luck!!
