Jim, you are the true eel master.  In such conditions and it didnt even end up on your spear but wrapped between your legs.  that would have been a good shot to get on the Go Pro.  New meaning to the money shot pick." anyone one can shoot an eel but to catch a state record between your legs?"  I dont know what school you went to jim but it had to have been to school of hard knocks.  Awesome report.  Cant wait til friday loco.

That's awesome, Jim! Great job on the potential record. I had no idea about the diving records for MFE.

I was out there this afternoon and went eel hunting too, working the intertidal zone (5-10 feet of water). The surge was powerful and the swell was throwing me around a lot. Vis was no more than 5-6 feet. I ended up shooting a 12" black and yellow, and two 26" monkeyface eels.
Even took the classic picture to pay homage to you  :smt044

Leave it to Jim to hit the wet dirt and still pull a possible record!! Awesome story - I really enjoyed this read and the video!

Have to go by Phil's and get the scale certification #, date it was certified and name of the employee who weighed it before I can submit it to DFG...

The guys down here aren't sure what happens with a tie, so it will be interesting to see!
