Just a heads up to the guys downstream, the flows on the Sac are being ramped up to 25,000 cfs this afternoon.  Just two days ago the flows were less than 4,000 cfs.  Get the surfboards ready!

FYI I just crossed the Sac river (I-5 at Elkhorn) and noticed a huge debris line as far as I could see upriver and down.
Huge trees, logs etc. 30 - 40 ft. long mixed with other assorted woods and junk!
So, if you Sturgeon hunters anchor up anywhere near the main channel be aware that a massive log could sneak up on you and cause some probs1! :smt009

Yeah, AR is cranked back up over 20K cfs.  They started ramping it up over the weekend out infront of this last warm, wet storm.  3-5 inches of rain in many locales on the west slope of the Sierra with high snowline.

Shasta is coming up over 1' per day, only around 12' to go until full-pool so I think we'll be seeing these types of flows for a few weeks.

I'm supposed to be moving my mobile back inside the levee east of Isleton next week.   You guys are scarin' me!  I'm having Delta withdrawal though!  Guess I'll be checking the level at the I street Bridge regularly.  Thanks for the heads up.----Jeff

Water is supposed to rise slightly above 23 ft at I street bridge and stay there through Friday.   Glad I poured the new slab for my trailer already.  It's gonna be close for me but I think it will have to go to 26 ft. before we actually float away.  Once I am in place and the flows settle all are welcome to come by.----Jeff

Pretty High,

There are some houses, along the river, that are not on stilts, and it's lapping at their doorsteps,

"Swabbies", next to Elkhorn launch,  is rightly named, as they are almost underwater right now...

Just got this from Chicopaddleheads via the Shasta paddlers. 35,000 fps

IT'S BACK!  If you have a bomb-proof roll, like to surf/play boat, and aren't afraid of big water, the ACID dam in Redding's Coldwell Park is forming its legendary surfing wave/hydraulic again.  Whenever the Keswick USGS gauge shows 33,000 plus, you're good to go.  No swimming, please.

Plans for the Wed. move were scrapped.  Water is nearly up to our well head.  Hopefully it will subside and not contaminate the well.   Septic is full and pump has been shut off.  This is just too much water, but it is the cost we pay for living that close to the water. At least our mbiles are all safe behind the levee.  The Old Sac is raging.  Looking for more peaceful times on the river this summer.----Jeff

not to mention the 30,000 cfs the state is dumping from Oroville...

Down to 40,000 cfs today, but it has been dumping since around midnight so there's a ton of surface runoff.  Crap, now it is hail-ing.  I've heard of nuclear winters...must be a nuclear spring!

my aunties beautiful river house is on Garden Hwy near Elkhorn.  There is two feet of water rushing through her ground floor, and the house sits atop the levee at least 15 feet up from the summertime water level.  her dock is gone and I dont' know what happened to her Seaswirl, Pontoon, or jet skis.  Its pretty devastating, and no relief in sight.  I feel awful.
