I posted this so long ago, I thought it might be a good idea to post it again as the date gets closer.  If anything was tentative, it no longer is!  It's on for sure. "The more the merrier"

The loose screws have been asked if they ever have fun on the weekends.  The truth is; not often, but here's an exception.  The tides at Lawson's Landing are right for morning clamming most of the week of March 20th.  The plan is to arrive either late Saturday (3/19) and camp Saturday and Sunday night,  or arrive early Sunday morning (3/20) in time for the 7:50 A.M. minus tide.  There's another minus tide Monday morning at 8:10.  We're thinking we could dig clams Sunday morning and make chowder for dinner.  We could dig clams again Monday morning and take them home.  There could possibly be some kind of party at the campground Sunday night.  Lawson's takes reservations for camp sites at Lawsonslanding.com.  We plan to camp near the sea wall so it's just a short walk to the beach launch area.  We haven't finalized anything yet but I wanted to get this posted as early as possible in hopes that many of you will be able to join in the fun.

Do you know where everybody plans on camping? I am new to here so I don't know what everybody looks like. For now it will be me and the wife. See you all soon.

We plan to camp near the end of the road, down by the sea wall.  Go left as you approach the marina store and continue to the end.

Take them to the clamming event.  I bet you they will love the experience.

more info.

lawsons landing info 707 878-2443
gate opens at 7am but if no one is there gate is not locked and you self pay....I think it is $7-8..
if you plan to camp over / sleep in car then it is $26.

I was going to  bring family but wife did not want to camp...nearby cabins are full but a property mgr said that some homes are available to rent for a one nite basis if available still the Wednesday prior for 1/2 the published weekend rate... if anyone is interested you can see info at dillonbeachrentals.com
click under Moore Rental..
this is an option for anyone who was thinking of bringing family along...
to get an idea of comparison of these rental homes vs cabins...
the cabins when available are $200 /nite 2 nite min...

but my family we wait for later months and try for the camping option...so I will most likely camp in car..

Clamming with the Loose Screws looks like awesome fun!! :D I can't commit right now, but I'll try to see if I can make it out that way. I'll continue to keep my eye on this hookup as well :)

Ok,  I'm going to do my best to make it on Sunday morning, hopefully with friends and family too to see how this is done!  So far, it sounds like bring shovels, and something to scoop sand from the pit.

Anything else good to bring?

The only other thing you might want to bring is an ice chest, ice and maybe a mesh bag to transport the clams from the beds back to the camp.  Be prepared to get good an dirty!  Playin' in the mud might be a cleaner activity.  Great fun!

Cool, I remember digging for clams years ago at HMB. When I was younger, you couldn't keep me out of the mud.  I guess I get to relive my youth now  :smt005  Sounds like it's gonna be a hoot, can't wait!

The weather forecast doesn't look great but it doesn't look really bad either.  Considering the number of rainy days we have had lately, I'm thinking this should be a "GO" rain or shine.  I plan to leave home around 4:30 A.M. Sunday and arrive a little before the minus tide.  A little rain might just help rinse off some of that mud anyway!
