2011 Abalone Opener at The Red Barn

I think I have my daughter with me that weekend so I'm sure I'm out.  I do have a stanless fish cleaning sink for the barn though Joe, you able to take it up there?

I'll bring dive weights and jigs if there is anyone who needs them.I'll only pour if there is an interest.

Wish I could make it up there but too much shit going on. ( Logan's first tee ball game, Buddies Wedding Reception, Salmon Slam). Have a great time up there. Am still thinking about gong on the 1st for a drive,dive, and grab day depending on conditions.

This just in from the wife.

No ab opener for me.   

Previously unknown family commitments that apparently are more important than driving 8 hours roundtrip, chasing snails and drinking beer with friends.     

I will try and sneak out Friday AM down here for a few hours and see if I can't find one of the Lings that has been winking at me all winter knowing that I can't shoot him!

 

Bummed I can't make it up there, but the snails really aren't gonna go anywhere...more bummed I won't get to hang out with you guys...

 

Oh well...next time!!

I can do a day trip.
So WHERE are you guys diving?  Shore diving?  Yak diving? 

My 13 yr old has been practicing in the pool.  Is it a good place for a newbie???

John there are some protected spots in the Fort... You can find legal abs in six foot of water in some places, we are gonna plan the dive the day of because of possible weather issues...and it will be A shore dive... Im bringing my small yaks.... ...Good luck and be safe!

I plan on doing timber if the water ain't all jacked.

Yeah that too, but I'd like to believe that she loves me too lol  She must love me since she got me a lifetime fishing license for Christmas. She's encouraging me to go fishing!!
