Al, are you camping at folsom state park? If the weather is ok and no other priorities come up, Im down to go friday morning but sat. is probably more doable..Been wanting to hit folsom again! The kings should be biting. This time last year the bite was on..a lot of nice spots and smallies to be had to..large minnows again will be your best bet for the bass.

I need to get out this week. Missed getting a line wet last week for the first time this year. May try Oroville for some landlocked steelhead on Thurs  depending on the storm. Then Folsom Fri or Sat with you. Gotta get me some soon, points that is.

I'm down for Friday as long as I don't get called into work. I need to get into some brown bass!  Where exactly are you thinking about launching?

Based on current forecast, Friday weather looks good - partly cloudy, low wind.  30% chance of rain on Sat.   60% chance of rain on Sunday.

I actually have no clue yet where to launch  :smt005  But were staying at Beals Point #14 which looks to be pretty far from the water, and really far from the nice fishy looking creeks.  So, any suggestions?  :smt003

Thanks for the weather report.  Sounds like a Stormtroopers weekend to me  :smt044  Keeping my eye on it.  Would have been going to Sly Park, but when I called to ask about camping they asked if I had a snow blower  :smt012

I'm in, can we just call it Friday?

I'll be bringing a friend from Missouri, hopefully we'll find some fish  :)

Intel on the lake from this morning is:
Granite bay - slow
Rattlesnake Bar - road still closed

Based on last year, Ricci is right, salmon and bass should be getting better soon at granite bay, but I have heard good things about Browns Ravine as of late...

I'm thinking about hitting up Sly park on friday and then Folsom on saturday, but I'd really like to figure out the fishing on Folsom and people are still going Friday. Does anyone know where the launch will  be at Folsom?

Looks like Folsom on Sat for rockfish and friends....
launch at granite bay, but not too early....7ish???

I have had good luck trolling towards the dam, over the flats pulling a big crankbait on one rod and a trout/salmon rig on the other  :)  2c

fishfinder not necessary, but MUCHAS helpful...

They just planted trout at Browns Ravine on Wednesday.  Its about a 3 mile paddle from Beals point or you can just launch at the Hobie Cat Ramp at Browns Ravine.
