so a couple weeks ago my dad said he picked up a fishing reel for me at a garage sale for $2. I just picked it up from him and it's a Penn International 2, 30 TW, SCORE! A couple little nicks and the clicker makes a horrendous sound, but other than that I've now got a fully functional $2 big game reel. The question now is what the heck do I do with it? I don't have the $/means to put myself on blue water fish, and can't really think of a way to use this reel for nearshore SW or FW applications. What would you do with this reel if you didn't have a six pack ready to take you out to tuna or sailfish?

Mount it to a jeep for use as a manual winch.  :smt001

Not much use for that bad boy around here, if I didn't have immediate plans for using it I'd sell it and buy a couple reels more suitable to our fisheries.....or a nice combo.

manual winch, now there's an idea!

I've thought about just selling it, but don't want to hurt Dad's feelings, he was so proud of himself for his find. Maybe it'll just end up becoming another decoration in the bar room....
