Hello to all , great site , glad to have found ya all !

yes I have used a kayak before , sit on in Hi. , just for sightseeing etc.... ;)
I am looking for a good fishing kayak , about 10" is the size I want

is a sit in better for more year around fishing ? less wet more wind blocking...

is a sit on the safer one to use ? better/easy to get back on...

speed is not what I'm looking for , ease of use/safety (i won't be the only one using it) won't be doing white water just small lake use....
as I am retired now :) ............i am a bit older and some times not as wiser for it.. :smt002........help and real input as to what you guys/gals use would be great

BPS models(fs10).......e-motion stelth......??? .just a few I've looked at......

Thanks for having a great site.

I like the tarpon..........how does that one stack up to the two I've looked at.........I see a big weight diff. on the 10' ..............what would be one of the most stable to fish from ?

Unfortunately only you can answer that. This is why I always recommend demo-ing before purchasing. I used to work in the kayak industry and always offered demos to my customers. Other's will give you their opinions but what a perfect kayak is for them may not be the same for you. IMO, take your time and demo as much as you can and you'll find "THE ONE" :smt002 Good luck!

I believe "California Canoe and Kayak" in Rancho Cordova has rental and demo programs.

One more to add to the list. Cobra Navigator. It's a little longer than you mentioned at 12.5 but because of that extra length will paddle faster & easier than the Cobra Explorer or Escape while still being extremely light weight. I had one and it was a good fishing kayak. Be careful going too small/short as the shorter the kayak the slower you go and the harder it will be to paddle. Mooch is right about suggesting you demo different models. If you paddle a ten footer and a 12-13 footer back to back you will be amazed at the differences. jim

Hey OG( thhts cool) I will bring a T-11 to the AOTY awards if you come over to Half Moon Bay that you can paddle around.  Very nce and stable and a very much drier ride than the caper. An angler edition of the T-11 is loking good for you. It also paddles nice and straight for being a smaller boat.
