Hey everyone, I am a new member here on NCKA and this is my inaugural post so please be understanding if the format isn't perfect hahah.  Me and a couple of buddies went out today to Bolinas Lagoon for the first time, despite the uninviting weather and the knowledge that true shark season doesn't pick up for a couple of months,  in search of some Leopard Sharks and Bat Rays.  Other than a couple of bait-stealing crabs and a possible cold, pun intended, we didn't even get a bite   :smt012.  We were throwing squid on the typical sliding sinker hooked up to an 8 oz weight and a metal leader.

Although it was an unsuccessful day as far as fishing is concerned, I am definitely eager to go back when the weather and the season permits for my second Leopard Shark or Bat Ray.  And maybe next time I'll bring my yak if transportation arrangements allow  :smt002...it's no fun trying to convince a friend to reconfigure his roof racks with your hull-holders in order to transport your boat hahah,

Let me know what you guys think about the spot that we chose.  Not sure if it was the best one to fish at, but it was our first time there and we did not feel like trying to find another spot in that weather.

i've fished that tight bend in the channel in the pic before to good luck, mostly on the outgoing tide, but beginning of incoming too. it is right after a little rise on teh road, there's a pull out there, and right now a bunch of seals hanging on the inside bar

Welcome aboard my friend! :) Sorry to hear that no leos nor mud marlin were caught on this outing, but it was worth a try :) A great thing ya got here on NCKA are the hookups with others wonderful members.

That's a good size Leopard Shark man! Much bigger than the one I caught off of Elephant Rock Pier in Tiburon, and you don't need to worry about constant snags at Bolinas like you do in Tiburon.  Sound advice SteveS, that spot with the tight bend will definitely be where I will fish next time once the weather clears, thanks a lot for the tip.  Looking forward to fishing with you guys for sure, and thanks again

if u drive around into the town of bolinas there can be good action right at the inlet of the lagoon , sharks , rays , perch , crabs & halibut from time to time.
