Dude, Eric... you don't use gloves when you dive up there?  Or just since you were playing in the shallows?

I have gloves, Fuzz, but I don't wear them unless it's one of those mid 40's water temp days.  I like having a better sense of what I'm grabbing onto in all those holes I reach in.  I wore out many pairs of gloves in my heavy ab hunting days, and the cuts were worse than those I get from bare-handed diving because by the time I ripped into the palm and fingertips of the gloves I'd go on to slashing my skin.  I've developed a pretty keen sense for how to grab onto urchin and barnacle covered rocks in low viz where the surge is pushing me around.  Minor bleeds are good for you.   :smt003

A couple years back Domenic and I were diving in Trinidad and the water was COLD.  My hands were going numb, and I knew my time in the water was limited due to it - wasn't carrying any gloves with me.  I slithered around the perimeter of an easy chair sized boulder and came face to shell with a 10.5" ab.  My hands got warm within seconds just from the stoke!   :smt001
