Nice price and all, but those are rated as 8-12 pound rods. Okay for trout and such, but a bit light for my purposes.

Always willing to join others in the Monterey/Santa Cruz/Half Moon Bay area for a bit of fishing...feel free to contact me.

Those look like they would be a good stick for live bait Halibut, light tackle rockcod and salmon mooching.

I don't have one but I've checked them out in the store and they seem pretty sweet especially for halibut. It's nice to have that super light tip so you lose less bites. Even more true when you are fishing bigger baits like smelt or sardines.

Right on Otter! That a great size rod for halibut. When fishing carolina rigs its perfect to a fast tip for the more subtle bites. Load them with 15 and use a 20-25 lb test leader. Good to go.

I told my wife I was buying one for, but I was a little short, she actually cut loose with "nearly" half. So they won't be leaving home any time soon.

I got one of each, I think the casting the better of the two.
Sorry you weren't able to get in on it.
