Well I suppose you could have a break in the wire somewhere causing it to not reach the FF.  I'm assuming its the same sort of plug as the cuda 250/350. the round one with transducer cable? You check the pins on the back of the FF to see if they are corroded or bent? Try bypassing the fuse, just connect + to the battery directly.  All else fails, try your FF on another yak with the same cabling, see if it powers up then?  You can try mine next time we meet up ;)

To check the battery check it with a volt meter set it  to 12 volt /vdc setting and place on the terminals, if your fine there them check the wires.Check continuity on both your power wires +/-,if there is no continuity on the fuse wire check the fuse, if the fuse is fine then wire and work your way back to the plug etc.  If all of those are fine then ya see if you can plug your FF into someones with the same plug. ahh the wonders of electrical trouble shooting!

Tiny,
The pins on those connectors are really unreliable and can get bent very easily.  I rarely disconnect mine just because of the fragile nature of the connection. I would inspect the pins and straighten any bent ones very carefully.  Give it a good coating of dielectric grease and reconnect it.  The less times you plug and unplug the head, the better!

X2 on the dielectric greese...I've seen more than one fishfinder brought back to life by that stuff.

Check the connectors to your battery. I fussed with mine for a couple hours. My voltmeter read 12v all the way to the unit. By chance I tried a 12v test lamp and it wouldn't light up. Apparently the connection was good enough to read voltage, but wasn't delivering enough amperage to drive the FF.

Good luck!

Tiny I went crazy with this on my boat ff.  The fuse looked fine but the break in it was hardly visible.  Easy to check and replace.  Don't overlook it---it cost me a morning's fishing on the Delta and a lot of aggravation.----Jeff

Tiny, Make sure the battery posts aren't coroded.  I had the same trouble with my FF and the connection point on the battery was halfway corrodded and falling off! other than that you have to check your continuity of your fuse and your power wire like Abdiver said  :smt003 Good luck  :smt006

Thank you everyone.I took everthing a part put it back together and it worked.I'm not sure, but I think inside the hull one of the wire connectors that had shrink wrap over it had a bad connection. That was the last thing I was thinking of because it seemed to be solid on original installation was thoroughly wrapped, and worked for a long time. Thanks again to everyone.See you guys soon.

Same thing happened to me. Checked everything with a voltmeter, no juice to the FF. :smt044
I had a solder connection go bad inside a marine grade heat shrink tube(has glue inside). I used the wrong flux when I soldered it together(for copper pipe), everything looked great for a couple years and then trouble! The solder joint was good but the wires had corroded and broke. I only found it when I decided to pull all the in hull wiring out. :smt011
