Caples Lake Campground is right across the road from Caples Lake resort.
34 sites four are tent sites. No reservations first come basis.
Caples lake resort has a few cabins, pretty pricey unless shared, also has a few lodge rooms. No camping.

Man so many things to do in August and trying to do them all. Plan on camping at Caples Campground. Getting up there on Wednesday night or early Thursday and stay thru Sunday. Since no reservations need to probably get up early. Probably going to do a side run to the Markleyville Hot springs and some other small lakes fishing also. Hope to see a great turnout.

I will be up there next week to do some "scouting" of the area. I will go to the campground mid week to get an idea of how the weekend may be. I will report my findings here. Not sure yet if I want to get one of the discounted rooms or try camping yet.

When camping with G-Whiz, don't leave your fly open...

I was talking about your tent fly!

Any update to what next year might look like, should you decide to do it again.  I know you'd mentioned possibly a single event over a long weekend.  I'd love to hear what you have in mind, if anything.

I don't know if this is the right place to ask but ...  Are there any rules to the tiki tournament as far as bait or lures ?

Follow all DFG rules and you are good to go.
