Met up with Novofish at the Marina Cafe @ Lake Chabot. We launched around 8:30am.  It was a gorgeous day out there on the lake except the bite.  We paddled all around the lake and around the island with no luck.  We basically used every lure that we have except the kitchen sink.  I saw some shore anglers caught some decent size trout.  I guessed that's why they call it fishing.  Overall it was a nice day on the water with another NCKA brother (Novofish). We'll get it next time bruddah. Here are some pics.

Well, that's the problem ... the kitchen sink lure always works  :smt002

We gave it the old college try at Chabot today, but those educated planters were having nothing to do with the NCKA! Met Freddie (IslandYak) and we launched with high hopes for monster planters. Hit that lake hard from the get-go  but Chabot was reluctant give up her goods. I must have switched rigs 20 times, embarassed to admit breaking out the pwr bait, after seeing some kids land 3 trout over 20" off the dock :smt010 ended up even carolina'ing a senko as the afternoon heated up! Freddie, good to fish with you bro! We'll get 'em next time!

Beautiful day trolling the waters of the East Bay!

I have to agree with the beautiful weather and poor fishing.  I was on the water at about 7:30 and got off around noon with zero bites and zero fish seen.  I talked with a non-NCKA yakker (2 bites, 1 rainbow landed) with a fishfinder who said the only fish he saw on the FF were on the bottom, and it seemed that the shore fisherman who were using a slip sinker and powerbait/earthworms were the only people landing fish.

I did manage to catch this beauty in Half Moon Bay

I think the combo sells for 29.95 at Wal-Mart and luckily I was looking for a cheap spinning rod for nephew/niece fishing, so the day wasn't a complete loss.  (The reel was unsalvageable in my mind with a missing bail, but I am flush with reels and short on rods).

I'm not quite to a FisHunter level of hatred for Chabot, but a few more days like Sunday, and we won't be speaking for a while.

Nice catch Zip!
Saw your car in the lot when I got there, wondered who else was yakking.
At least you were smart enough to not stay out until 4pm :smt044
