Took advantage of the holiday weekend to start installing some of the accessories on my P13.

> 2 - Scotty Round Flush mounts at the bow of the boat.
> Garmin 188C Sounder - the unit was actually larger than anticipated, so I took off the stock sounder cover. Also used a mini water bottle to house all the wire connection.
> Garmin GPS Antenna - Opt'd to mount it inside the hull; less chance to get damaged.
> 12v Battery inside the waterproof Pelican case.
> 2 - Scotty Square Flush mounts at the rear of the boat.
> Seadog 12v connector; to power the live-well.
> On/Off switch for the live-well.

Future projects:
> Complete the plumbing on the live-well.
> Complete the Anchor Trolley installation
> Add rod holders on live-well
> 2 - Sea Dog Flush Mount Rod Holder with Cap.
> Rear Drift Anchor (Scotty)

I'll add more pics as I complete these projects....

Thanks for all your ideas!! The one thing good about being the last one is everybody just about tried every type of installation; making it easier for us newbies to replicate. Plus, Ocean Kayak made it real easy with the new 'Rod Pod' cover....

That yak is beyond a super modified kayak.  You my friend have broken the tech barrier.
Is that a kleet near the side handle in the last picture?  Genius.
I am sending you out as sheep among wolves.

Thanks!!

It's a "Zig-Zag" kleet, I got it from Austiin Kayak or Hook1; I forgot which one; but it's definitely one of the two.

Would have got more done, but ran out of SS screws... hopefully, it will be completed by the end of Feb...

Thanks for the info.

Also, what is the name of those water tight fittings for your fish finder wires? What size did you use?

I got that one at West Marine; think it's the 1/2". I opt'd to put one piece on each side of the plastic (hull) and sandwich everything together; it's stronger that way and does not need additional backing, plus it's a lower profile on the outside.

Here's a view of the front side:

Here's my try at additional rod holders:

I got the double-rod holder at West Marine and did a few cutting and grinding:

Cut the tube right below the mount bracket on the rod tubes; this gave them the right height to mount them on the orange box.

I grinded down about 3/8" on each side of one of the horizontal braces; this allowed it to fit right between the dividers in the well and kept the box from shifting from one side to the other.

New guys are usually so hesitant to start drilling their yaks.......glad to see you're bucking the trend  :smt003

Only thing I noticed was that the zig zag cleat is in the exact spot you'd be bellying up and over in a self rescue, potecntial to get caught on a life jacket buckle or something.  Other than that it looks clean, nice job.

I thought of that; was a tough decision on putting the kleat in front of the seat strap for convenience while in the boat and putting it behind the strap when in the water.

Hopefully I will use it more while in the boat, and move alittle more forward when doing a self resue. I'll test that when I take my safety/self rescue class.

What do you guys think of my new graphics for the boat?  Got bored on things to do, so I made a someone's picture into my new decal for my boat.  I also cut vinyl if anyone want custom letters or graphics made...

Very cool graphic.  I would like to come up with something that combines beer brewing and yak fishing but my artistic abilities aren't so good.  If I come up with something it would be great to get it cut into vinyl for the yak. Thanks for the offer.

Hey Martin,

Believe or not, I have no artistic skills; however I am real good at copying. What I did was take a picture off the internet and just traced over it in Photoshop, then deleted the real image; all you're left with is the trace copy. You can then add things to it like lettering, addition graphics, etc; I just added the "paddle" in this morning.

I does help if you have some Photoshop knowledge...

Good luck; hit me up when you have it ready!
