Decided this morning to to try for stripers at the Forbay, Stopped at the bait store and was told a 31# striper was caught
recently in Portuguese cove, San Luis. Didn't seem too windy so I went to the big lake, to give it a shot... ( no red light flashing)
Launched at Basalt, headed to Portuguese cove. About 7am, about 7:30am the wind hit. It wasn't too bad to paddle, but fishing was out.
So back to the dock, and to the forbay...

Pics of Basalt area, if I had a water proof camera I would of had some nice pics of water splashing over the bow..

No keepers caught at the forbay, but it was nice to get out...

Here's a couple of pic's of the cove just, just south of the Dam. (Basalt is aroung the point) Notice no wind whipped waves,
these pics were taken on my way out. The Trash racks are in the back right of the pic005  The cove has always been calm, and I've seen a lot of float tube's there, not a lot of fish taken though.  As soon as you round the point, to hit the main lake the wind slams ya...

Good luck when you go, I know there are some big fish in there..
