Hey Peter

Do they do any kayak fishing over there?
If you get that recipe you mentioned, send it my way as my wife would surely be interested.

Hey, peter, it looks like you had a good time and caught a few fish as well.  It also looks like you had some good food as a result of the catching :).  Thanks for the report!

Back in 1986, when I was stationed on the island of Iwo Jima; I mostly caught majina (similiar to perch) and tried catching aji (scad).  Some of the constructions workers caught a Black tip reef shark (8') one time and I had to show them how to gut it.

hey Pete.

thanks for sharing the Int'l experience.. I may find myself out in Japan this July so this puts some ideas for activities in my head.. doing anything else is always so damn expensive..

by any chance did you get to visit any tackle shops like Joshurya?
my wife always picks up some different from USA knife jigs etc...but yes some of their tackle over there seem to target smaller sized fish...

but the cool thing she found was a used gear store....she brought back a couple baitcasting reels that looked brand new and she got them cheap...
I plan on hitting those shops when I get out there...

hope to trade notes with you sometime...perhaps GS5..
