Looks like Sunday is gonna be do-able and so is Monday.  Anyone down to spear some fish?  All the videos and pics lately have been getting my hyped.  I would like to go hit SWS, but anywhere is good with me.  I've never been diving down there so I need a guide!  Sunday? Monday? Whenever is cool with me.

Looks decent so far for Sunday at SWS:

http://forecast.weather.gov/MapClick.php?lat=36.563082614241225&lon=-121.95013046264648&site=mtr&smap=1&unit=0&lg=en&FcstType=marine

Sunday: N wind 7 to 9 kt. Mostly sunny. Mixed swell...NW 9 ft and SSW 1 ft. Wind waves 1 to 2 ft.

Jeff...here are directions/details...

Hwy 1 to the "Pebble Beach / Hwy 68 to Pacific Grove" exit. It is at the top of a hill after the Hwy 68 to Salinas exit. As you exit, follow the signs to Pebble Beach, 17 mile drive. You'll be at a pay gate where you will have to pay $9.50.

After the guard gate, keep to the left and after a few miles you will see a sign for the Pebble Beach "Beach and Tennis Club" and "The Lodge at Pebble Beach" - turn left.

Take that towards the lodge and just before the lodge is a sign for the Beach Club and Coastal Access - turn left.

That is the final road and leads to the pier. There is a short flight of stairs next to the pier that takes you right to the beach. Unload your yak and gear there, and then drive the car back out to the Beach Access parking spots by the 17th Fairway (narrow parking lot by a row of bushes on your left when driving out). Park here and then walk back to the beach.

We can meet right by the pier and we will show you where to park.

Let's meet at the pier at 7:30am...I said 8 last time, but I couldn't sleep in that long and got there too early and by the time every else showed up I was suited up and dying to get in the water!!

 :smt005 :smt044 :smt044 :smt044

Bring your VHF if you got one...helps to be able to talk on CH 69 if we end up with some folks in different spots.  :smt001

Hoping Porky and BloodBath and whoever else is available on Sunday can join us!!

 :smt006

Sincerely,

Jim

Awesome!  Thanks for the directions, I think meeting by the pier is a good idea, I dont want to park in the wrong spot and anger the "members".  I'll probably be bringing a friend with me who is just as much of a rookie as I am.  Looking forward to meeting you and hopefully being able to spear some fish!  I've got a VHF and will be sure to bring it...now if I could just get one of those FishMaster artery cloggers....

Looking forward to it...Pokry and I will be there.

This place is beautiful and you are gonna dig it. Any fish found are just the icing on the cake.

Oh Snap!  I better bring my A game for this!  I just may have to bust out the BBQ and Fryer. HHMMMmmm, I think the beer of the day might be Modelo Negro or Pacifico....not sure yet.  I wish I could hit both hook ups, but talking my lady into letting me go for damn near the entire weekend is a battle that I dont know is worth fighting.  You gotta pick and choose your battles and live to fight another day.  I'll run it by her and hope for the best.
