Searched and could not find a thread on this, so forgive me if this is a repost.  I am wondering if anyone had experimented with solar battery chargers for their equipment.  Was curious if this was worth exploring. There are various makers of the panels, but was wondering if anyone has fitted their Yak with one. Curious as I would like to get more time out of my trolling motor.

I happen to run into this yesterday:

I'm thinking of adding a trolling motor too and just wanted to see what setup you're using?  I might get the minn kota endura/riptide motor w/an ~50AH battery.  That should last for a whole day of trolling - I hope.

How long does your battery last and how about adding a second battery?

I believe a motor = licensing, CF #'s etc. Why would you on a kayak?

Battery life is dependent on trolling speed.  at low speed, 6 hours is the usual with the minn kota.  I thought of a second battery, but would like to keep weight to a minimum. Yes you need to register it, but the cost is minimal.  I use a trolling motor for my returns after a long day on large lakes.  Never on the ocean, and yes you have very specific rules and regulations as it is a boat.  But the motor came in handy when we were fishing reds in the gulf.  just depends what you are looking to do. The conditions dictate.

I'm also interested to see how you set-up your trolling motor.   Thanks
