BTW I'm thinking of selling my giant skate ramp if anyone is interested.....gotta make room for an airstream trailer, and my son is not interested anymore.  I will subsist on the skate park, I guess.....16X32"

Ha!  I'm trying to get a 1/4 pipe out of my garage to make room for more fishing gear as we speak.

Anyway picked up the Trevala at Western Sport on my way through town this morning - For the record it was not 20% off, but still a good value at $99 I thought.  If the rain stops like the weather man says it's going to, it'll debut at the Port of Sacramento tomorrow come high tide.

I've been looking on line at those Trevalas - lifetime warranty I think.
Been wondering what to spend money on during the "off" season.

It is hard not to appreciate that rod once you really check them out - I'll let you know how it performs OTW - stoked about the reel too of course.

I went with the TVC70L

I think you may want to look at the TVC70ML for rock fish, but for my river needs, the 70L is perfect.  I suspect when I put together a rockfish rig, I'll pick up the ML.  Can't be mad at a rod that gets bloody the first time out...

yeah sorry the ML is the all around RF rod
