Rain doesn't both me!  I will be wet from all the fish I am catching anyways!  It will help keep the fish slime washed off my kayak.  :smt003

I am hoping we have some flat conditions.  Has the water cleared up Eric?  I am hoping we have conditions like GMS 3, that water was clear!  I could see fish swarming my lure below the kayak.  Very cool.

I can't wait!  I just had a double root canal, so may have to lay off the diving  :smt012.  Luckily there are salmon to distract me!  I have my planer boards ready, and my apex lures rigged with barb-less hooks.  I have been loading my tackle boxes, putting new line on rods, pimping plastics, painting knife jigs, and gathering my ocean gear.  I need to get some whiskey and beer!

Less than a week to go!!!!!!!!!!

Matt

Right on, Matt!  Coming in with both barrels firing even after the dental surgery!  The water yesterday was nice and clean - hopefully it'll stay that way.  Today the reports have big schools of sardines and chovies in the bay and lots of salmon being caught!  Oh, Man...  torture!!!!   :smt005

Eric,

Is it time for halibut there? Inside the bay -- outside?

A Cali halibut can be had there, though it's not that common, and Pacific halibut is a reality from 50' and out.

EWB - night time temps in the 40's to 50's.  If we're looking at overcast the temps could stay in the 50's the entire time.

"Bitter Sweet" has been defined - the bite for salmon today was described as epic - 85 or more kings, mostly 15-20 pounds, were brought in at the Cove!  I'm all torn up to have been there and not hooked one yet, but I'm stoked that what is shaping up for GS is so badass!

Here are two Stormsurf screenshots - today and next Saturday at midnight (5.5 hours before tournee fishing starts).  Do the math!   :smt007

Hey Eric look what happened when I went out yesterday with my neighbor on his PB.  The game warden and 2 fish counters said these are the 2 biggest salmon caught in Shelter Cove so far this year.  Mine (left side) was over 29# and the other 25#.  Now I want to catch one like this from my yak.
