I too got a room at the tides. I will be bringing the wife and 8yr old daughter and therefore will be on relatively good behavior.

Count me in, and I'll be watching out to pre-pay for camping. Looks like an awesome event, can't wait.

Since Tiny brought it up,
Will we use the team / buddy system again?
If we do I would seggest we have a gathering time and place prior to hitting the water - last year a few team members showed about an hour or so late :smt009
Also I would seggest a set time and place on Sat for the gear swap (prior to the event on Sun) so others can get what they need for Sun.

Sorry,
A little slow at work and GS-5 on my mind

I did like the team concept last year but I do believe with the amount of people out on kayaks that it would be best to allow for just getting out and fishing. It is the way I love to roll and with the communication on the water, safety can easily be handled with our NCKA fellowship of the paddle. I do understand that there will be a few inexperienced kayak fisherman out there and they should take it upon themselves to make sure they buddy up with someone or stay within a group.

I'll think about the team thing - thanks for the feedback on it.  I will likely encourage teams, and having a radio or being with someone who has one will be required.  More on that later...

Domenic and I were just going over some details.  Check-in will be earlier, like ending at 3PM, and will be at a station down at the launch most likely - this will make it so no one will check-in late, because that kinda screwed me up last year.  Otherwise, I think I'll stick with AOTD and the C&R bonus like last year.

I've got a good GS5 high going.   :smt004

I agree that everyman for himself, and no mandated teams. Those A-hulls cannot be trusted!  :smt008 I agree with Doc, there are enough of us out there to help when I go over, besides, my radio did me squat. I will offer a bounty on any and all of my recovered gear from last year! (some of it is still under waranty!)
Live your life, the way you want to be remembered. Don't have any regrets, we only get this one dance to make it count. Start at your eulogy, and work backwards.

Is the event for the opener on the 14th(Saturday) or the 15th(sunday)?

I mentioned gear swap on Sunday after everything is finished from the event.
Sponsored by: Pacific Outfitters, Jackson kayaks, Seeker rods. Accurate reels, Promar, Mustang Survival, Lingcod jigs.

I am also willing to do a safety clinic(for the first timers) before the event if you like Eric.

We have good info that the opener is actually Saturday, May 14th, so that's when the event will be held.  A Friday evening safety seminar sounds great - at the ramp around cocktail hour like last year.   :smt001

Last year, the A-hulls were hosting complimentary safety seminars just about every hour on the hour. I hadn't been that safe in years.  :smt001

Yeah they will tell you not to go on the water when you are as drunk as them (every hour)... :smt044 :smt044

Well my wife just booked the last room at the Tides Inn!  It will be my wife, daughter and I and a truck load of kayaks and Ab gear!  Woo Hoo, I can hardly wait!  I definately am looking forward to some more drinking and party time at the pot luck!  After reading the food (or booze) thread, we may need to put up a safety net along the cliff, cuz someone is going down.  There may be mass quantities of wobbly pops consumed........

BanjoTad, Stoggie and Al; you guys up for some whiskey flips?  :smt003

With the way this tread is going, I will have to check it hourly!  It would take days to catch up on posts  :smt012

A few blood pumping pics!
