And DP when you comin up here man???? Dont you get bored of ugly old Monterrey?? Dont you want to see the pristine wilderness of the oakland airport and surrounding countryside???  :smt003 = get up here dood!!

Yeah MBay can be boring catching all those nice lings and wsb :P

But in all seriousness, I DO WANT to fish Nor Cal/Bay Area more. This wonderful state has soooo much to offer. Plus I miss y'all!! I'll be seeing everyone soon :D

I'd echo all the safety discussions... Yesterday there was a nearly 8 foot outgo, and heavy wind coming SW. That meant BIG confused waters- on a ripping current. Water temp was 48.
I bailed after about 90 minutes as it was just too freaky.
Along the marin side, the outgoing current effectively runs N to S. so any wind that is not north makes it ugly.

After today the tides aren't ideal in SPB- they're too late in the day to be helpful. Look for Highs earlier than about noon- that gives you the best of the outgoing, and you can still get back before it is dark.
You could fish the incoming, but it is not as productive.

I'm looking to hit Liberty island/ cache creek area on Sunday. Heard some talk of sturgeon all over. Santa is bringing me a new fish finder so I can will no longer be fishing blind :) . Let me know if anyone wants to join in

Might just join you up there in cache on sun dr. hab. Me and a buddy where up there bankin it for sturg. and seen lots of jumpers but no takers..did catch 1 20in. striper that hit roe but that was it! lots of sturgeon up there for sure! Pm me!

Just my 2 cents, in fast moving water keep your leaders short, less than a foot.  Keep your bait on the bottom,  I have even put an egg sinker on the leader using the hook as a stop. 
You might want to check the Regs on Leaders shorter than 18"
