Howdy guys,

I joined NCKA a few weeks ago with the start of dungie season and have been lurking around a bit.  Thought I'd finally give an introduction!

I'm Lu - I've been freediving / spearfishing for the past 11 years and a lot more so in the past 5.  If you're a member of spearboard, I have the same screen name on there as well.  Most of my diving happens in either Santa Barbara, Monterey/Carmel, or Sonoma County for abs.  I used to go fishing with my dad all the time as a kid growing up in Arkansas - catching crappie, bass, etc. and they are some of my favorite memories.  I mostly just spearfish now but lately I got into catching dungeness from my kayak and have really enjoyed it.  I also started ab diving this past season and have enjoyed diving around Sonoma County.  I'll still take dungeness over lobster or ab any day. :)

Kayak-wise, I've got an Ocean Caper angler edition with a decent fishfinder.  It's worked out well so far on my trips to Doran, Baker Beach, and Linda Mar but I'm sure I'll have kayak-envy once I start seeing some of the other rigs out there! I work two promar collapsible traps and two rings when I go for dungies.

Anyways, just wanted to introduce myself.  Looking forward to seeing some of you guys out on (or in) the water.

Cheers,
Lu

Welcome Lu!  I'm trying to figure out what it's in your profile picture.  Is that someone diving with a fish?  Do you have a bigger pic you can post?

Hey Rey,

It's a picture of me holding a wahoo I shot in La Paz this September. It appears the same size as everyone else's pics for me - is it showing up really small for you?
