Berry Lake monster fish 12/2

Nice job sonny now you got your big cat! and you got sum bass! Wtg and congrats.

Yeah buddy, WTG on the catfish Sonny.  BTW, did you catch the fish on a kastmaster too or with live bait? So stoked for you to finally catch your kitty. Now where is Sean Connery's report?

All my Basses were caught on the Kastmaster except for one that took my live Minnow which was intended for the Crappie!  The Kitty was caught on a "top secret" bait.

Oh man, congrads Sonny!!!!    Know you been hunting all year for that puppy!!!  Quite a nice one to!!!  Way to go on them bass too, looks like it was a great day

We stopped by Sweeney's for some live Minnows and I was "impressed" by the real life like Duck decoys displayed at the parking lot...

Until I approached them...

We got to the lake and saw several fish jumping around the boat launch so Dave hooked a minnow and throw it out while we unloading the kayaks and gears.  Less than 1 minute later...

So we decided to fish around the boat launch for a while and I tied on the Kastmaster and got the 1st Bass on the third cast...

After hooked about a dozen of them, I decided to move out ot deeper water hunt for the "devil" fish I was searching for it all year long    With my "top secret" bait, I know if there is a Catfish in this lake, I'll catch it    I was fishing 2 rods, one for the Kitty and the other with live Minnow on a float for Crappie.  An hour or so went by without any action, suddenly I saw a tug...tug... on my Catfish pole    Got the rod in my hand, I feed some more line to make sure it swallowed my bait...after 30 seconds (feel like 30 minutes)  I reeled in until I felt the weight then set the hook...fish on.  I yelded on the radio...Dave I got a Catfish on!   Dave said "I'll come over to take some pictures".  The fish fought hard for the bottom but after 5 minutes or so I saw the color and it's a "monster" (to me)    I'm sooooo happy to get this "monkey" off my back    Spent the next hour hunting for Crappie but no lucks.  We got back to the ramp and it's dark!  Here are some pictures of the day...

So inquiring minds want to know 'Sean Connery's' observations.  From my front row seat, I heard Sonny mutter "something is nibbling on my bait" next the hook set "its on and its fighting hard" the ensueing battle included some top water action, "Wow I finally got my CATFISH". Sonny was clearly estatic. Check out the smile of victory. Shortly prior to this I was 1/4 mile away, supose my claim to fame was to bring him luck. My fishing day included catching small bass on lures and minnows.
