Anyone hit Doran lately....????

Thinking about dropping a few pots at Doran today.Have not been out there since early last week.Anyone got any info on how it's going there...???  ...Loco

I haven't been since last wed, but I thinking about going Sat if the Wx forecast holds up. Big tides this weekend. Not sure how the critters react to that. They may just hunker down. Let us know how you do today.

I was out there monday from about 11-2:30.  Got 8 keeper dungeness and 1 huge red rock crab using just 2 rings.  Seemed like the ring i had closer in picked up most of em.  It definitely slowed since opening day, but the crabs are still there.  Also now it seems like they are filling the shells a bit better and may even be tasting a bit better.  Long story short i have lots a crab and crab cakes in my freezer now.

12/4/2010     Left a Danielson overnight.Checked it at daybreak,full of quality crabs.Kept ten of the biggest,and released the rest.Been getting more crabs in close(50 yards) from the jetty,and very few red rock crab.Havn't done that well,soaking south,towards the Estero.Getting a little burned on cooking,cleaning,and cracking them!Time to start spearfishing...Good luck and be safe my brothers/sisters,if you have a chance to get OTW...Loco

Thanks for the intel Loco. Good to know there are still plenty out there. Couldn't make it happen this weekend.

Plan on hitting doran this weekend. Gonna be out there between 7 & 8 am. I'll be in the hobie kona (tandem) & my buddy is trying it for the first time, he'll be in a hobie as well. I hope the wind is good to us.

I have similar aspirations. I may see you there.
