Thanks for the inspiration, Adam.  I was feeling a little pessimistic and wasn't going to respond to this post even though I've always loved hooking up w/ NCKA, and I've met some great friends here.  I guess some of the 'political' aspects of fishing and fisheries have gotten me down a bit.  I've found that it's best for me to stick to the fishing reports, and the hookup section is a great way to perpetuate those regular reports.

Funny, but Saltydog's "Why" post really inspired me when Mooch pulled in an old post of mine.  I remember now that, even though I had some of the best yakfishing in the world almost all to myself up here I became very interested in sharing it all, and I went on to meet people who I love and respect as well as establishing the GS series.

Yes, I am a cocky-ass, braggart of a guy, but it's because I want to spread a conscientious ethic and to go fishing with people!  Here's the most telling stat:  30 of 38 trips yak-fishing and abbing were solo.  The 8 trips that I had company were shared with 10 different people - no more than 2 at a time and only 2 people twice:  Brandi Easter and Dave Wright.

I love fishing off my yak, hiking the beach, and just being in and around the ocean.  Come fish with me!   :smt001

Damnit!!  This board - this community, is a very special place, and sharing my passion with people who turn out to be as cool as I've always wanted to be is something that has enriched my life exponentially.  Thanks again.    :smt001 :smt010 :smt001

It is. I've yet to meet someone from here that I didn't like.

The politics are no different here than anywhere else. A stew of varying emotions, opinions and levels of knowledge that sometimes boils over. One thing that I think is different, though, is that the arguments are almost universally honest, which says a lot, imho. And I *always* learn something from them.

Adam's got the right attitude, let's fish!

That's funny. I was looking into a trip to Tulloch when Ben posted the Dumbarton hookup.

It's stretching the WAF account, but I think I can do Monday.
