I finally made it out to the Port of Sacramento(AKA deep water channel) in West Sacramento.   I went out from 11:30 am - 3:30 pm today.    I drifted minnows on a 3 way set up about 30 feet down.  I caught 5 stripers, 4 were too small to keep and one was a nice 8.5 lbs!

I caught it on my ultra light rod with 6 pount line.  That was fun.

I dumped my kayak and went into the water when I was leaving.  The shore was very muddy where I was getting out, I slipped, and next thing I know I was in the water!!!!  It's been a long time since that's happened to me.  Gald I had a change of clothes.

I'm fairly new to this board so I'm not up on all the pools and stuff.  I do know that there are some big Stripers coming out of the Port.  While I was there a small aluminum boat pulled in two over 10 lbs.

Great report and a nice catch.
I'd like to try the port.

Alfredo~
If you follow the dirt road WAY back to just beyond the wrecked metal gate there is a crude boat launch. It would be a heck of a paddle though if you wanted to fish near the docks. I was wondering if all those pilings might hold some nice fish? Guess i will have to venture out to see.
