Yeah I think 80% of NCKA is out.

Waiting for the casting call that reads like this:  40 to 50 year old kayaker, must be able to keep boat upright in moderate swells, preferably with a three day beard and a thousand yard stare, must have kayak that is rarely cleaned, and smells like bait. Cares more about catching fish than making movies, personal hygiene, or saving the planet.

Must accept beer or fishing tackle as payment.

And don't leave out this part: "...and must be strong in a boat."
At least they make no mention of paddling skills . . .

It's not a film, it's an ad for a new watershoe from Sperry. They are looking for Sea-kayakers (SIK) but considering kayak fishing as well. I'll be working with them on the shoot in Trinidad bay. Skills wise you should be comfortable in swell and surf while looking good doing it. It pays $400 per day. A good gig for just playing around.

i'm imagining what the shoes look like, while inside the SIK right now.......

If its SIK, then I'm putting my money on a print ad showing portaging or the boat in a shoulder carry or something.  Srider fill us in after the gig, sounds very interesting

I think Yakuza is right on about portage type shots but it is also a product testing. They'll be spending a few days first doing whitewater on the Trinity river. They're bringing in WW pro's from BC. The whole thing is sponsored by a boating company from up north. The details are being kept under raps until finalized.
